Data Exchange Survey Results
In the previous edition of the Data Exchange monthly update, we included a short survey to capture your feedback on the resources, materials and communications we provide.
Below is a summary of the key findings:
- 64.7% of respondents access the Data Exchange reports often or occasionally
- 58.4% of respondents would like more assistance in understanding the reports
- 70.8% of respondents indicated they prefer receiving Data Exchange communications monthly
- 27.6% of respondents stated Task Cards are the most useful resource on the Data Exchange website. This was followed closely by the Data Exchange Protocols at 24.8%.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. Your feedback has identified some key areas we will work to address, especially around the use of the Data Exchange reports and we are pleased to see our monthly update email is being positively received.
Exit Reason
The Data Exchange ‘Exit Reason’ field will be expanded to all programs reporting in the Data Exchange from February 2021.
Exit Reason is an existing optional Data Exchange field, currently only used by a small Program cohort. Exit Reason allows organisations to optionally record the reason a client has exited a service. This is captured at the Case level in the Data Exchange. For those organisations already familiar with Exit Reason, there will be some additional values added to the field.
As this is an optional field, organisations that do not wish to collect or report on this will not be required to make any changes. If you are interested in providing this additional data about why clients have exited cases, then we encourage you to do so.
We will soon be updating the Data Exchange Protocols to reflect the expansion of Exit Reason. For those organisations using file upload or Web Services transmission methods, the Exit Reason field will be available for use in the Data Exchange Staging environment from next week.
Current resources on Understanding Reports
We would encourage you to access the “Self-service reports” factsheets, available on the Data Exchange website: https://dex.dss.gov.au/resources.
The factsheets provide a summary of the data sets available in each report, and suggestions on how to interrogate, analyse and use the data available.
System outage
The Data Exchange Reports will be unavailable between 7pm Saturday 21 November and 7am AEDT Sunday, 22 November 2020 due to scheduled maintenance. We apologise for any inconvenience.
