AUSkey transition
As you are aware, the way you access the Data Exchange is changing as AUSkey will be decommissioned on 31 March 2020. The Data Exchange will be transitioning to myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM).
myGovID proves who you are as an individual, while RAM authorises you to act on behalf of an organisation when using online government services.
Some organisations who are new to the Data Exchange in this reporting period may not have an AUSkey yet. Any organisation in this situation should continue with getting an AUSkey, use it to report data for the current period, and start investigating myGovID and RAM at the same time. AUSkey will be maintained until the end of March 2020, and once your AUSkey is established you can transfer your permissions to RAM.
July – December 2019 reporting period ending soon
We encourage you to start talking to your staff and colleagues about the importance of submitting data on time. This is critically important where your organisation has previously missed a reporting period.
Things to consider when preparing for the end of the reporting period:
- Do all of your relevant staff have system access to enter data?
- Have you used the self-service reports to check what’s being uploaded is accurate?
- Have you allowed enough time to resolve any issues?
Recording an outlet and updating user access
Is your outlet information up-to-date in the Data Exchange? Organisations are encouraged to submit any outlet changes now, as they can take up to ten business days to action.
Now is also a good time to review your organisations’ editors and viewers registered on the Data Exchange. This helps ensure the right staff have the right access, and any operational changes are reflected in the Data Exchange. Some organisations have a high number of editors and viewers listed in the Data Exchange that have not accessed the system in many months. If their role has changed, they may no longer need access to the data, or the same data as they previously needed.
As an Organisation Administrator, you can review and modify access at any time to protect client privacy and ensure records are accurate. The Add and edit a user task card provides information on how you can do this.
Helpdesk availability
The Data Exchange Helpdesk is unavailable from 12.30pm on Tuesday 24 December 2019 to 8:30am on Thursday 2 January 2020, for the Department of Social Services end of year close down.
